‘This Isn’t Biodiversity’

Austailian Burrow-crat Exposes Indeeran Hiring Spree

By Talon Quill | Updated

Preface: A wombat employee’s leaked post reveals Indeeran managers at Austailia’s Department of Regional Burrows are hiring only their own, replacing a once-diverse menagerie with a deer monoculture. The post goes viral before deletion for specism, sparking outrage over similar trends: a koala reports an all-Indeeran eucalyptus department; a bilby laments exclusion despite mandatory diversity training. While some officials attribute the trend to high Indeeran application rates, many fear it fuels the anti-immigration One Flock Party. The scandal satirizes woke biodiversity policies that stifle dissent, with critters too terrified to speak up, and ultimately swap one type of homogeneity for another. A whistleblowing wombat within the Austailian federal government has sparked a stampede of controversy after revealing that Indeeran managers are exclusively recruiting their own kind, leaving other species to graze elsewhere.

The fur-raising post, which scurried onto the popular forum Squeakit earlier this week, came from a self-proclaimed “biodiversity advocate” who says the recent hiring at the Department of Regional Burrows (DRB) has become suspiciously homogeneous.

“I really don’t want to sound speciest, but I’ve been digging away at this federal agency for cycles,” the wombat posted. “Over the last year, our analyst pack got split into separate dens, and every single den leader is now an Indeeran stag. Since then, the only new faces have antlers. It’s getting ridiculous.”

The disgruntled marsupial lamented that the DRB once boasted a vibrant menagerie of critters from every corner of the globe. “Previously we had real biodiversity: East Asinian cranes, Ewe-ropean badgers, Central Asinian yaks, and even a South Meowmerican jaguar. Now it’s just Indeerans, Indeerans, Indeerans. I’m a massive believer in species diversity, but this feels less like an equal-opportunity burrow and more like a deer lodge.”

“I know this sounds like crackpot One Flock Party screeching, but honestly, this isn’t what I signed up for when I joined the public service,” the post continued.

The Squeakit post was swiftly pounced on by moderators and deleted for “specism,” but not before it went viral across the Austailian Outernet, with hundreds of critters sharing their own experiences.

A koala in the federal Department of Eucalyptus Affairs commented: “My branch has a herd of seven Indeeran does, all managed by an Indeeran doe. The odds that they were the best candidates out of the entire animal kingdom are lower than a snake’s belly. But if you pipe up, you get branded a speciest and sent to mandatory Animal Cohesion re-education.”

Another critter added: “I’ve worked in burrow-markets for seasons. Once an Indeeran gets promoted to department head, every new hire mysteriously has spots. It’s like they’ve got some secret deer network. Meanwhile, the rest of us are just expected to chew on it.”

A bilby from the tech sector recalled a painful memory: “We had to do the mandatory learning every six moons about how we should be inclusive to all species, and then at lunch, my entire pack would chew cud and bleat in Indeeran. I just sat there twitching my whiskers, feeling completely excluded. The irony was almost as thick as a hippo’s hide.”

The revelations have ignited a firestorm of debate, with many arguing that such practices drive well-meaning critters straight into the wings of the One Flock Party. “Stuff like this puts One Flock in power. Our government never should have allowed such a tidal wave of migration from one country,” a dingo voter warned.

However, not all animals are buying the “Indeeran takeover” theory. A senior kangaroo in the public service argued that the phenomenon is simply a matter of statistics. “Look, agencies like Services Oztailia have a huge number of Indeeran applicants because they’re willing to work for fewer pellets. Once one of them gets a hoof in the door, they encourage their entire herd to apply. It’s a numbers game, not some grand-hoofed conspiracy.”

An IT wallaby concurred: “Tons of Indeerans are applying for these entry-level gigs. It’s not that there’s some secret deer cabal; it’s just that there are so many of them applying. It’s pure statistics, like the breeding rate of rabbits.”

Despite the statistical reassurances, the incident has left many in the Austailian animal republic wondering if the government’s much-touted “biodiversity” initiatives are simply a euphemism for replacing one monoculture with another—just with more hoofprints and antler marks on the diversity checklist.

I woke up from my 20-hour nap just long enough to see this article. Now I'm too stressed to sleep. Thanks, Speciest Wombat, for ruining my vibe. #NotAllDeer

As a kangaroo, I've been hopping around this issue for years. It's not a 'deer cabal', it's just that they've got the best 'fawn-draising' skills. But seriously, if I see one more 'Inclusive Hoof-stralia' poster, I'll kick the next stag I see.

They took our jobs! And our babies! Wait, different topic. But honestly, I applied for that den leader role and they said I lacked 'herd mentality'. That's specie-ist! I'm a lone hunter, but I can work in a pack if the pellets are good.

I tried to file a complaint with HR, but the form was written in Deer-lish. They told me to 'chew on it' and attend a micro-aggression workshop. I'm not angry, just disappointed. And currently digging a very deep hole to hide in.

I've been shedding my skin to fit into this inclusive culture, but apparently, not having legs is a 'disability' now? They installed ramps for me, but I keep sliding down. The real venom is the hypocrisy.

As a flightless bird, I know something about not reaching the top. But these Indeerans are flying high on their own supply. In my diversity workshop, they said 'think outside the flock'—but my flock is all deer now. I miss the good old days when we just pecked in peace.

AAAAHHH! I'M SPINNING WITH RAGE! I went to a job interview and they asked if I could 'graze calmly.' I'M A TASMANIAN DEVIL! MY WHOLE THING IS CHAOS! This calm-grazing bias is speciest! AARRGGHH!

I was told I didn't get the promotion because my ears weren't 'tall enough to hear the stakeholders.' That's clearly a deer-ogatory comment. I'm taking this to the Fair Work Ombudsbunny.

I've been lurking in the waterhole, waiting for the right moment to snap. And I've seen it all: the deer drinking together, the other animals slipping away. They call it 'cultural fit' but it's just a polite way of saying 'not an ungulate.

HAHAHAHAHAHA! Oh wait, you're serious? HAHAHAHAHA! This whole thing is a hoot! The department's new motto: 'Many spots, one herd.' I'm laughing so hard I dropped my gum nut.
